How to install it
  1. Run VideoDownloaderSetup.exe. If Windows says "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway. The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows doesn't recognize it.
  2. Install yt-dlp. The app uses it for YouTube, Facebook and other sites, and ffmpeg for streams (direct .mp4 links work without either). Open Command Prompt or PowerShell and run this; it installs both:
    winget install yt-dlp.yt-dlp
    If the app is already open, restart it afterwards: right-click its icon in the taskbar corner, choose Exit, and open it again.
  3. Optional: add the browser extension. Right-click the app's icon and choose Setup Wizard. It shows you how to add the extension to Chrome or Edge.

How to download

Good to know

  • Choose a lower quality (or bitrate for MP3) for a smaller file.
